The Formosa Plastics Group Museum was established in 2004 to document the history and growth of Formosa Plastics Group (FPG) and to comprehensively preserve artifacts that reflect its corporate culture. Open to the public with free admission year-round, the museum aims to share the Group’s legacy, highlight Taiwan’s economic development, and serve as an information hub for FPG’s sustainable growth and corporate spirit.
The origins of Formosa Plastics Group trace back to 1954, when Formosa Plastics Corporation—the Group’s founding company—began operations with a modest daily production of just four tons of PVC powder. At the time, it was considered a small-scale manufacturer. However, through decades of relentless research, innovation, and perseverance, the company has grown into one of the world’s leading PVC powder producers, playing a pivotal role in the rapid advancement of Taiwan’s petrochemical and plastic processing industries.
Beyond plastics, Formosa Plastics Group has diversified into multiple industries, including petrochemicals, fibers, textiles, electronics, transportation, heavy industries, energy, automobiles, and biotechnology. The Group has also expanded its global presence through strategic overseas investments, establishing itself as one of Taiwan’s largest privately-owned enterprises.
In addition to its industrial achievements, FPG remains deeply committed to social welfare, actively supporting initiatives in healthcare and education. This dedication reflects the Group’s broader mission—not only to drive economic growth but also to contribute meaningfully to society.

Hutoushan Park is located on the outskirts of Taoyuan City, near Section 3 of Chenggong Road and the Nankan River. It is a popular destination for locals, offering a scenic spot for leisure activities and hiking. Originally 15 hectares, the park has expanded into a 720-hectare scenic area, including the two recreational area of Hutoushan and Fengshukeng and three hiking trails systems, making Hutoushan an important urban park in northern Taiwan.
Owl Forestry School is located next to the Confucius Temple. In winter, owls gather in the nearby forest, inspiring the name “ Aoer “, which sounds like “ owl “ .
The school is built among red fruit fig trees, carefully designed to let their aerial roots grow freely. The treehouses are constructed without harming the trees, allowing them to coexist with nature. For safety, glass fiber is used to reinforce the structures.
An elevated squirrel boardwalk connects three unique treehouses:
Tree-reading Classroom – A hexagonal design allows a 360° view of the treetops, giving children a new perspective to explore and learn.
Hoot-hoot House – Shaped like an owl, the forest guardian. Climb inside and peek through the cracks—you might spot rare birds up close!
Green Ark – A leaf-shaped platform with an elevated owl hut in the center, providing a resting spot for birds.
This enchanting space lets visitors connect with nature, observe wildlife, and experience the magic of the forest!
